self portrait

Soft pastels on bristol. Self portriat. Not really sure if I like this yet.

random updates…

Just a few things I’m currently working on…self prtrait, ear.

(Yet another) Self portrait. This is in just the beginning stages. Yes, its a wonky cell phone picture again… My camera is busy with another project at the moment. (See below.) I thought I was going to try this in pastels, but somehow I just kept continuing on in pencil… We’ll see what happens, maybe I’ll try both.

This is going to be a series of water drop/splash photos… the set up was pretty tricky for this one. I ended up with a baking pan since none of my bowls were wide or deep enough for the lenses I have and I couldn’t get quite the right distance away. Seems the combo of this bread pan and my 55-200mm lens and a couple of clamp lights are doing the trick… but its tough to get that lens to move fast enough to catch the action.

random sketch for today…

Sitting in the computer lab today. There’s no classes until next week so its dreadfully quiet in here. Not much to do so here’s a random sketch.

Sorry for the crappy blackberry pic.

sketches…

I need more sketches, and drawings in my portfolio, and my brain is all but fried lately.  So I’m leaving it up to all you people out there in the interwebz… tweet me, or post down below an idea you want to see, and I’ll post whatever I come up with here.

some recent drawings…

I’m a proud Auntie :-)

Here’s a couple of pictures from Natalie’s first dance recital. She did a wonderful job!

I’ll post more as I get a chance to process them.

Enjoy!

Quantum entanglement

The theory of quantum mechanics predicts that two or more particles can become “entangled” so that even after they are separated in space, when an action is performed on one particle, the other particle responds immediately. Scientists still don’t know how the particles send these instantaneous messages to each other, but somehow, once they are entwined, they retain a fundamental connection.

It could be why couples who have been together for a long time seem to look and act alike. It’s kind of a romantic idea, I think. Maybe when you’ve fallen in love, it is because your particles have become entangled…

Or maybe the warm weather and sun have gone to my head today.

an outtake from my photoshoot for my Photoshop class. We need to clone ourselves in an image using Photoshop. I don’t know if any of what I took will work for my project, they’re a bit grainy as the lighting wasn’t so great, and many pics are a bit blurry from movement.  But it was fun taking the shots…

Merry Christmas!
