I’m finding it really hard to focus right now…

There’s too much that needs to get done, and I can’t seem to concentrate today.

Apparently Saturday was a big day here on the blog… I got 117 visitors! that’s an all-time high here. haha! I hope you all found what you were searching for. Don’t know where you all came from, but hello! And I’m sorry it’s usually dreadfully boring around here. I feel now I should update more often. I know I say/write that a lot, but really I will try.

I got an early Christmas present. A Quantaray 18-50mm f3.5 wide angle lens. I read a few reviews online that weren’t too favorable, but for thirty dollars I figured it was worth a shot. Found it here.

Here’s what I’ve taken with the lens. Nothing spectacular… just a couple test shots.

hello again, it’s been a while…

I’m not very good at keeping up with this blog as I thought I would be. I promise to try and do better.

Not much new news to post as of late I guess. But I suppose no news is good news? Or something like that…

Hope the summer starts to pick up a bit. We haven’t seen much sun here in about 3 months or so. This has to be the rainiest spring/summer in history.

Decided to decorate my balcony, with some of those big cafe lights.

Been a pretty busy weekend for me, had a friend’s baby shower in Connecticut, my cat got some wonky foot infection, and my mother was over for most of the weekend.

It was nice to sit out on the balcony Monday night have some coffee, and finally relax. One day, I’ll actually be able to relax on a day off work.

Crazy, I know.

Evie 2

This is Evie. She is a spunky little ball of energy.

She was rescued recently by a friend of mine. The story I was told, (as well as her husband) was that she was driving down Sunrise Highway, and 3 kittens hopped out of a box over on the side of the road. This little one was the only one she could catch.

Her husband doesn’t believe the tale. It does seem a little far fetched that someone could see -much less stop for- a box of kittens while doing 70 on Montauk Hwy… But little Evie seems to have won their heart anyway, and so she has a new home, wherever she came from. Much to the disappointment of their first cat Chloe, who was feeling a bit camera-shy this weekend.

Cat Owner’s Prayer

Because I’m only human,
It’s sometimes hard to be
The wise, all-knowing creature
That my cat expects of me

And so I pray for special help
To somehow understand
The subtle implications
Of each proud meowed command.

Oh, let me not forget that chairs
Were put on earth to shred;
And what I like to call a lap
Is actually a bed.

I know it’s really lots to ask
But please, oh please, take pity;
And though I’m only human,
Make me worthy of my kitty!
