This is what happens when you spend too much time at Starbucks… You get songs stuck in your head.
The original idea started out as a random doodle while chatting with my friends over the weekend. A little time in Illustrator to clean it up, and re-tool some of the letters, and some fun with Photoshop, and here it is; the final poster.
I’ve been silent here for a few months. Things got pretty busy and the commute into the city everyday was exhausting. But now the semester is over, and I’ve got a few months to work (hopefully. Someone hire me!), and do some of my own personal projects that got put aside this past year. Yay!
I hand-made a screwpost portfolio for my end of the year review, and for never building a book before, I have to admit I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I even hand-painted the logo on the cover.
Blurry + Art = Blart.
“Seems like some kind of ride but it’s turning out just to be life going absolutely perfectly.”
Many thanks to Alanna, Alicia, Pam, and Marcia for helping with my photo series project…
Colored pencil sketch, unfinished.
Soft pastels on bristol. Self portriat. Not really sure if I like this yet.
Hope Everyone is having a wonderful holiday!
Here’s a couple of pictures from Natalie’s first dance recital. She did a wonderful job!
I’ll post more as I get a chance to process them.
More progress…. its getting there, slowly.I still think the main tree looks more like Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree than the tree in the original photo. And I added some random trees to the background that aren’t really in the original photo as well, bit the pine trees are rather difficult to recreate, so I placed in some oak-y looking ones instead.
I can’t even tell you how many hours I’ve been working on this. I’ve lost count, but its getting up there in the high single digits at this point.
The picture I used for reference is Gele by =jjuuhhaa on deviantArt
he’s also on Flickr. Stop by and say hello!
an outtake from my photoshoot for my Photoshop class. We need to clone ourselves in an image using Photoshop. I don’t know if any of what I took will work for my project, they’re a bit grainy as the lighting wasn’t so great, and many pics are a bit blurry from movement. But it was fun taking the shots…
I bought new pointe shoes, so of course I just had to get a pictures of them. Before they get all dirty and mashed up. Is it weird to say I love the smell of new pointes? Yea… it probably is…
For those who care to know, they’re Bloch Aspirations. I’m not sure how I feel about them yet. I feel like the shank is a bit too stiff, and the toe box is a bit wider than I’m used to. My last pair were Gaynor Minden, but that was a long time ago. And since they’re a bit expensive, and a friend of mine works for a shop that carries these, I will try Bloch at least until I get my bearings again.
