Another semester over.

I’ve been silent here for a few months. Things got pretty busy and the commute into the city everyday was exhausting. But now the semester is over, and I’ve got a few months to work (hopefully. Someone hire me!), and do some of my own personal projects that got put aside this past year. Yay!

I hand-made a screwpost portfolio for my end of the year review, and for never building a book before, I have to admit I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I even hand-painted the logo on the cover.

Blart…

Blurry + Art = Blart.

Many thanks to Alanna, Alicia,  Pam, and Marcia for helping with my photo series project…

Some more classwork. Not sure if I’m hitting the mark with these, but still need some more photos so maybe the next batch will produce something a little better…

I don’t think this is some of my strongest work to date, but they are kind of interesting…

“We’re fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance.” ~Japanese Proverb

an outtake from my photoshoot for my Photoshop class. We need to clone ourselves in an image using Photoshop. I don’t know if any of what I took will work for my project, they’re a bit grainy as the lighting wasn’t so great, and many pics are a bit blurry from movement.  But it was fun taking the shots…

another rainy day…

It’s supposed to rain all weekend. I hope it lets up a bit for the festival this Sunday, that would be disappointing, since this would be the 1st year in about 6 years that I would actually be able to make it there without work getting in the way. It would figure it would rain.

Also slightly disappointing, the Starbucks by me is closing down after next week.  Now I’ll have to travel a bit farther for coffee and free wifi.

Here’s another shot from the photo shoot in Stony Brook the other day.

waaaaaaaaaaaahoooooooo!

I finally got it!!!!! I got my Nikon D200 today!

Now I just need to learn how to use it! Its gonna be a little tricky, as I don’t actually own any auto lenses, so I’ll be using my old manual lenses for now, until I can afford to buy a new lens. But I’m so excitied to get out there and start shooting. Unfortunately, I have the most awful cold right now, but if I’m feeling up to it tomorrow I’m gonna try to get out for a little bit and try it out, if its not raining like it has been all week.

YAY!

here’s the first picture I’ve taken with it… Its a bit washed out, and Domino looks a bit annoyed. lol

very 1st D200 image!

Fluffy pink trees

pretty in pink

Every spring my neighborhood is filled with these fluff pink trees. Giant pink cotton balls to welcome you home every day.

Everyone thinks I’m crazy for shooting film lately. But I kinda like getting back to the basics. Besides, its going to be a while before I can afford a DSLR (I’m thinking NIkon D60or D80), so I’m going to have to get my fill of manual goodness through my Dad’s old Nikon FM. Thirty years and counting, and its still going strong. They just don’t make things like they used to, do they? 😉

Hearts and Stars

I haven’t been around in a while. And I probably won’t get a chance to post again for another month or so… but until then, I leave you with some Lensbaby 3G images!

These were taken with my “old skool” Nikon FM. I still love that camera. My ultimate dream camera would be a digital Nikon FM. All the workings of the FM, just with a digital sensor of some sort.
